Help when you need it. Clear information about how Wingman uses location, flight data and on-device storage.
If Wingman is not showing the information you expect, these quick checks solve the most common issues. You can also contact us directly for help or feedback.
Allow Wingman to use your location while the app is active. Location places you at the centre of the radar, finds nearby aircraft and identifies your nearest airport.
Wingman needs an internet connection for live aircraft information. Coverage can vary because aircraft data depends on public ADS-B reception.
Allow notifications in Apple Watch settings to receive available aircraft and tracked-flight alerts.
Questions, app feedback or a problem we should investigate?
Wingman is an informational aviation-awareness app. It is not a navigation, air-traffic-control or collision-avoidance system, and should not be used for safety-critical decisions.
Your wingman. Your privacy. Wingman does not require an account, sell personal information, serve advertising or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.
Wingman uses your location to centre the radar, calculate aircraft distance and direction, and identify your nearest airport.
Your exact location is used on your device and by Apple Maps. Wingman rounds the search position and sends only an approximate area to aircraft-data providers to retrieve nearby traffic.
When you search for a flight, the flight number or broadcast callsign is sent to aircraft-data providers so Wingman can find that flight. This is public aviation information and is not connected to a Wingman user account.
Your tracked flight and alert preferences are stored locally on your Apple Watch. Wingman does not operate an account database or upload those settings to a Wingman server. Removing the app removes its locally stored settings.
Wingman uses the following services to provide app features:
These services may receive normal technical request information, such as an IP address, and process it under their own privacy practices.
If you grant permission, Wingman can show available aircraft and tracked-flight notifications. Notification permission can be changed at any time in Apple Watch settings.
Wingman does not retain location history or flight searches on a Wingman server. Local settings are removed when you delete the app. Third-party providers may retain limited request records according to their own policies.
You can change location and notification permission in Apple Watch settings. You can stop tracking a flight inside Wingman, and delete the app to remove its local settings.
If you contact us, your email address and message are used only to respond and handle your request. Your email service and ours may process that communication separately.
This policy may be updated when Wingman’s features or data practices change. Questions, corrections or privacy requests can be sent to design@thenightshiftstudio.com.
